The First Week

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

Its been a long week but things went well. I was amazed that I had most of my bases covered with no experience in the restaurant world. Its long hours which I am not use to. I love to be in bed early so this is very difficult for me. The food has been wonderful,
Virgil is a fabulous cook and is so calm. Its good because if he is calm I am too. Everyone seems to love the Corner Side, and I find it peaceful to be there. The interior came out so beautiful and the colors are soothing.
The Fourth of July is this weekend and it should be busy, but if the weather is sunny most will be out on their boats. Happy fourth to everyone and come by to see the Corner Side.

The Final Touches

Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010

We are all putting long hours into getting ready to open.
All those beautiful sunny days we were stuck inside getting everything in place. I am glad its raining out now so I don’t wish I was sitting on my dock enjoying the lake. It has turned out as beautiful as I had pictured it in my mind many months ago.
So on Friday June 25th we will open the doors for all to come and have some appetizers and get to see the finished product. Thanks to all that worked so hard to help make this happen.

Insane Hours

Monday, June 21st, 2010

Its the last push, we are all working day and night, sounds like a song I know.
It is so beautiful, to sit back and see something come to life is amazing.
Everyone should be so proud of the work they have done to pull it all together.
The health inspector comes tomorrow and the liquor lic. man comes wednesday.
I think it should be okay. I am being called to duty by the new kitty. she calls to me and its hard to ignore her calls. It is hard on the animals, I leave
them to get things done but feel guilty.
It will be worth the effort as it is so pleasing to the eye.
see you there, and remember we are like fine wine, we get better with age.
