Its a beautiful sunny saturday, I am making a three layered cheese cake for dessert tonight.
one layer has kahlua , the next grand marnier and the last irish creme. and then there is a sauce to put over it. I hope it turns out as yummy as it sounds. It feels like fall out today even though it is not september yet. I keep thinking of nice fall desserts to make with apples and such with out rushing the season to much. Its my favorite time of the year coming up but I hate that summer is coming to an end.
All the kids are heading back to school so now the restaurant is full of couples and groups of women. We made a fabulous espresso martini made with real espresso. It was so good, recipe compliments from my Swedish friend Emil. Thank you Emil. Then we tried another, jalapeno cucumber martini what a kick, thank you Carol. So we are having fun trying out new drinks to add to the menu. We also added some new wines for everyone to try out. Come on in and join us.

Sunny Saturday
Saturday, August 28th, 2010Oquossoc Days
Saturday, August 21st, 2010Another year has come and gone, its Oquossoc Days again. John is sailing in the race and hopefully there is wind this time, Lack of wind makes for a boring race. I hope that we are not dead at the Corner Side with all the activity in Oquossoc. But I am off to the antique show to see if I can find any treasures. Last year I got a beautiful little sleigh. Maybe I will find some thing nice for the restaurant, I could use a few more pictures for the walls. Fall is coming fast, the weather is cool and the light is different now. Our menu will start to change for fall and more comfort foods will need the be made. I made a fresh fruit bowl with raspberries, black berries and blue berries with a lemoncello, yogurt sauce poured over it Its very yummy. The carrot, pineapple cake was a big success and may have to make it again. I am hoping we will have grouper for next weeks lunch menu, grouper sandwiches sound good to me.
